WHY “PLAY WITH STYLE”?

When I first thought of starting a blog, I thought of ways to incorporate fashion with sports. Sports take up a lot of our time, and I mean A LOT. I wanted to do a play on words that included something to do with sports but still keep it fashion related and came up with Play With Style Blog.

The name of the blog has kind of a double meaning to me. The first being all things clothing, fashion and shopping. And the second being, how I envision our boys playing sports – with style.

To me, playing with style means playing with grace and humility. It means playing to the best of your abilities. It means working as a team and lifting each other up. It means working hard, never making excuses and never giving up.

These are the things that I hope to convey through Play With Style.

As I mentioned, a lot of time is spent at practices and games so I like to gear my clothing to being cute, casual and comfy or as I refer to it – the 3 Cs. Who wants to be uncomfortable while cheering on your kids? Not this girl!

I am definitely a girl who loves to shop (just ask my husband lol) and bonus points if it’s a fabulous deal!! I love to find pieces that you can wear in more than one way or match with multiple other pieces – the more versatile, the better in my book! Getting maximum use out of your clothes is the way to go! And when I find something that I love, I wear it ALL THE TIME. No joke lol.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved clothes and putting outfits together – my friends and I used to put on “fashion shows” in my room. It was so much fun and I still laugh at the crazy outfits we used to put together lol. I loved putting colours together too to see which combinations paired well to me – and I think my love of colour first started when I used to make friendship bracelets out of embroidery thread when I was younger. Those were the days!

So now that I’m no longer hosting “fashion shows” with my friends or making friendship bracelets, this blog has become my new inspiration for creating and sharing outfits and having fun with fashion. I’m hoping to create and recreate lots of different ideas from the clothes that live in my closet.

However, I don’t want to limit myself to only fashion but it will probably be what I share the most. I also want to share things like being a mom and life with our boys. I want to share about my favourite books, home décor, things going on around us and a whole lot more – things that inspire me! Think of me as a mommy/lifestyle/fashion blogger lol. I just want to do and share all the things!!
